Significant Industry Accomplishments
- 2016 Named as Diving Logistic Officer for Global Underwater Explorers, Project Baseline initiative aboard the Baseline Explorer, a 150’/45m research ship where my function was as a Dive Safety Officer (DSO) for the Nekton Deep Ocean Exploration Mission.
- 2013 Appointed at the Governor of Nevada’s request to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to engage NMDE actively in supporting the scientific underwater research work being done in Lake Tahoe within the Lakes Nearshore Zone.
- 2013 Successfully coordinated the first joint research task force in Tahoe between the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, University of Nevada Reno and NMDE (A Non-Profit and Volunteer Dive Organization)effectively conducting 7 dives assisting the scientists of the University of Nevada, Reno in their studies of the Chara Beds located on the south shore of Lake Tahoe.
- 2012 Nominated and recipient of SSI’s Platinum Pro 5000 Diver Award
- 2010 Was the successful recipient of a $15,000 National Park Service Grant to continue documentation work on the Steamer Tahoe working closely with the State Historic Preservation office as the grant administrator. Objectives were to provide the State with a 20 minute documentary film, a detailed map of the historical site (360’-490’ underwater) and a K-12 educational program centering upon the history of the Steamer Tahoe. All objectives were exemplary met July 31, 2011
- 2004 In cooperation with Nevada’s State Historic Preservation Office, was instrumental in securing the listing of the Steamer Tahoe on the National Register of Historic Landmarks as the first submerged cultural resource within the State.
- 2003-2010 Actively worked with Nevada’s State Historic Preservation Officer, Ron James, in the work and documentation of the Steamer Tahoe.
- First Dive Team to dive and touch the SS Tahoe following her sinking in 1940 – June 29, 2002 and July 20, 2002
